Public Hearing before Village Council

Who is Save Village of Pinehurst Rentals?

We are your neighbors and we have been part of the local community for decades. Many of us are full-time residents or have lived in Moore County for over 20 years! We are not a group of faceless investors. We want to join together to unify the Village of Pinehurst, not divide it. We love our community and want what’s best for everyone.

The Village of Pinehurst is an inclusive family of year-round residents, seasonal homeowners, visitors, restaurateurs, golfers, landscapers, retailers, housekeepers, entrepreneurs, builders, realtors, plumbers, electricians, and many others.  All of these groups are inter-woven into the fabric that makes this town so special, and while some may not realize it, all of these groups benefit from short term rentals.

For decades the Village of Pinehurst communicated to countless property owners and visitors that there were no restrictions on short term rentals. The Town has happily accepted rental tax revenue and welcomed renters for decades. That is getting ready to change! Three members of the Village of Pinehurst Council (Mayor John Stickland, Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Pizzella and Councilmember Jane Hogeman) are pushing to BAN all Short Term Rentals ( STR’s) in all residential zoning districts and eliminate them by October 2025.

Short Term Rentals are essential to the future of the Village of Pinehurst! We need your help in fighting for our property rights and in protecting our local shops, restaurants, and small businesses that rely on tourism income, and the locals that rely on our 450+ STR’s for their income.

We’ve formed the Pinehurst Vacation Rental Association (PVRA) to “Save Village of Pinehurst Rentals.” The core group spearheading this effort is made up property owners, property managers, local business advocates and residents of Pinehurst who love our beautiful Village that co-exists with a resort community.  We want to keep our businesses thriving, local workers employed, and especially keep our communities welcoming to visitors.

So, whether you are a resident, local business owner, property owner or visitor, it’s time to come together to protect the future of the Village of Pinehurst that we all know and love.
